A valid will in South Africa must be in writing, signed by the testator and two competent witnesses, all present together. The will should clearly state how the estate will be distributed. Witnesses may not be beneficiaries. It’s recommended to consult an attorney or use templates from the Master of the High Court’s office to avoid ambiguity or invalidity.
